I always fancied trains
There would always be an element of surprise
You would meet someone or see something
That would improve your day tremendously
My favorite trains were the cheap provincial ones
That would never miss any village
And that would keep you away
From the atrocities of modern infrastructure
As you were drifting through the purest form
Of human surroundings.
Here I was sitting in my compartment
Together with a middle-aged woman
And two blond blue-eyed beautiful children
One of them was the curious type
Moving up and down, left and right
Conquering the world
Setting his foot print everywhere he roamed.
I liked that
His mother didn’t
“Stop that! Can’t you see you are disturbing other people?” She said.
The kid would stop
For about 30 seconds
Then he would start all over
Until his mother said the same thing.
This loop would go on for half an hour
Until the mother drew the final card
She yanked the kid with rage and fury in her eyes
“If I snap you your brains will fly out!” She yelled.
Meanwhile I was gazing through the window
At a view that told me everything I needed to know
