I’m sitting in the train station
Waiting for that train
To put me in a capsule
Bring me back from where I came
The place to remain
Until I am complete again
The breezy breeze is breezing through my eyes
Reminds me of the ocean nearby
And the time standing by
I walk inside the capsule
To take me through both space and time
Through the Universe collide
As the train’s new tenant
I take a break from the present
Retrospecting my mind
While in the prospective time
Letting my memories chime
As I’m sitting in that train
Freed from the mental chain
Away from the past pain
Close to what I deem my claim
I’m back in high school
Reeling through the different days
With a beer can in my hand
Worth a few dimes
Surrounded my friends, laughter
And our epic cheesy banter
As the wheels kept a rolling
On their endless tracks
Tunnels, bridges, villages and valleys
They all stretch on one side
On the other side
Windy rivers and mighty crescents
Going up but never growing
I take a bite from my mom’s sandwich
Local ham with sweet peppers
On white loaf with butter
All fresh
I sure can’t forget the taste of it
Not a million years I can’t
As the reeling in the years went on
I switched to a different timespan
The college days
And the people that went
Along the way
This time it had to be about the teachers
The gurus
The knowledge mystics
The information magicians
Passing on facts
Terms
And formulas
To every generation
Day
After day
Year
After year
Time
After time
Distinctly I remember
The times with these guys
How everyone gave their moments
To make us brighter
Wiser
Sharper
Altogether just a tiny little smarter
One by one
I remembered
All of those who made
A lasting impression
From the eccentric
Nutty Dutch teacher
To the mad artsy scientist
Business English fella
To the rad Economics guy
Telling stories all the time
And getting drunk with them students
To the handsome statistics gentleman
Whom they all called the Playboy Man
These people gave their times
So we, student, could create our own
Live accordingly through them
Echoing the moments, evermore
Wasting time, nevermore
Now, back in the train
The present to regain
Back in the capsule
To take me through both space and time
Through the Universe collide
Prospecting my mind
Inspecting my time
Letting the current moment chime
This train
Is the train that brings back a memory
Is the train tha your student eyes could see
Deep in the past
Nostalgic, so fast
When did the time pass by?
I know
We already passed by the College Station
And we had a beer, or two
Maybe more
We partied through every frustration
Savored inebriating celebration
It leaves
Us with the hangover of Life
With a headache, and a dying thirst
Woken up next to our wife
Our wife, the ever-changing Fate
Perpetual one-night stand
Holy molly, this is better than what I wrote. How much for it?
One beer.
